Exploitation of A "Private Job Employee" in India

No matter how big Indian private sector is and no matter how many employees has been employed by it,  Indian corporate still follows the "Lala mentality" with their employees. So let me describe it in a little detail what is lala mentality. So Lala is actually a term used for a trader or old school shopkeeper. Old school lala hires many people to work in their business in lowest possible wages and exploit them. They treat their employees like trash and fire them whenever they want. Now, "Lala Company" is a term that is used for a small or medium scale company started by some Indian Entrepreneur. And In a lala company there is no management, The founder or boss is the only decision maker. He exploits its employees like the typical shopkeeper lala.

Now some people say that this lala culture is only in small to medium scale companies only and the culture in big MNC's is different because there is a proper management hierarchy. But let me tell you the truth, the senior managers in the MNC companies themselves behaves as lala. Actually Lalapan  is a mentality, a mentality of treating the employees like slaves. Behaving like company has bought their lives by paying them salary. In this article I will list out some of the cruelties of this lala mindset on the private sector employees.

They want employees to work at very low salaries

The entry and mid level professionals salary is very low in India in comparison to developed countries. And there are two main reason for it. First there is too much unemployment in India due to which people has to agree to work on the terms of employer, because if they don't someone else will follow them and get the job. The other reason is that unlike other countries there are not any proper labor laws to protect employees.

Too much workload on employees

Private companies higher less employees to finish more tasks. It means number of employees are always less than required. They do this in order to perform cost cutting. Due to this the employees are always over burdened with work.

Extended working hours

For no particular reason employees are always expected to work extended hours in the office. As I discussed in previous point that there is always a work load, hence it happen more that the employees have to stay late in order to keep up with work. Also there are some foolish employees who stays late just to impress their bosses and managers. And due to these employees, manager expects other to stay late as well even if they had completed their tasks.

Expected to work on weekends and holidays

Managers  force their employees to extend on weekends. Managers call or message you like- hey listen there is an urgency from client side for this project, you have to work on this Saturday/Sunday. Also if you are on leave due to some personal reason, your manager still pokes you to work in the name of emergency.

Final Thoughts

All the above mentioned points clearly suggests that Indian private sector companies are still running with Lala mindsets. They suck the life out of the employees in the name of work and then mock them by paying peanuts. Indian entrepreneurs are greedy and selfish persons who do not care about the lives and well beings of their employees. And this will continue till the government will not make strict labor laws like minimum wage and working hours. Also there are required to create programs to train and encourage young people to become entrepreneur. So that they can generate jobs instead of looking for jobs. More the entrepreneurs we have more jobs we have in the market and thus a balance will be created and employees can ask for what is right.
